More Karaoke Tips
With all the karaoke tips available one might think that it is a hard thing to get involved in. Not
at all. Most of the karaoke tips and unwritten rules are no brainers and have to do with respect. Karaoke is like
anything else. We learn as we do and the more we are involved the more we learn. We adapt or create tips and rules that
work for us. So, please... read, use, adapt or disregard any of the karaoke tips listed on the site. My personal
motto in life is to always be the best you can be and if anything here helps you to do the same, then it is my honor to have
helped in some small way.
The karaoke tips listed on the previous pages talked about
the basics. Karaoke tips that may help before, during and after your songs were given.
I have added a few more basic karaoke tips here just to keep in mind but some of the karaoke tips given on this page are not
ones that you need to think about right away. They are ones to be aware of to better your performances and enjoyment.
They are the karaoke tips that a lot of people do not really think about but rather, just take for granted or don't even
notice at all.

A
Few More Basics
Do not get angry or upset if someone else ends up singing your song. I know it is sometimes disappointing but there are many others to choose
from and always another time.
The earlier you come to the venue the more songs you will get to sing.
If you show up late in the evening do not expect that you will get in right away or even at all.
Some hosts will slip new singers into the mix (especially if they are regulars) and some will not. Those
that have been waiting patiently for their turns do not always take kindly to new singers being added before them.
Singers love it when you get up and dance to their songs. So
dance if you feel like it while others are singing and hopefully they will do the same. However, never upstage the singer
with outrageous or loud dancing behaviors.
Always take people's comments and criticisms, tips, etc with a grain of salt.
Whether they are wonderful comments or not quite so complimentary or just plain unwelcomed you have to remember
where you are and why you are there. This is YOUR night out. YOUR fun and that is all that matters. If you
are having fun then you are there for the right reason. If someone is being a jerk, then it is THEY that are in the
wrong place and I would hope that the rest of the karaoke community in the venue would stand behind you in support.
If not, maybe time to find another venue.
Karaoke Tips to help performance
Once you start feeling more comfortable on
stage throw a little showmanship into your song.
I am not talking about down on your knees or head back baying to the moon showmanship. Using emotion, an appropriate
little growl or yeeha in the right place , pointing to someone in the audience when you are singing about "Hey ,hey good
lookin' " or changing the name of the city mentioned in the song to your city's name will have the crowd listening
closer next time you sing. You will soon develop your own personal flair that will get the audience behind you.
Try to learn new songs
If you are too nervous or intimidated on your first try or two have a friend come up with you to sing beside you.
There really IS strength in numbers.
HAVE FUN. Don't
take karaoke too seriously. You seriously hope you sing your song well and you want to seriously have fun! other than
that...Not serious
